4000 islands
Yet another paridise! Wish we had more time here though! First fall on the motorcycle today! Made it through all of the crazyness of Pai without a scratch, and as soon as we got here, just wiped out. Oops. Its beautiful here though, one night on the northern island, and tomorrow night on the southern island then another 14 hour bus ride to Siem Reap!
Rode trip to Kong Lo
Ain't it beautiful here?
After driving to somewhere (we literally asked the bus driver to take us anywhere) we randomly found a Sean there too, which was really weird considering we had no idea where we all were. We drove from wherever to Thae ket, which was a pretty crazy drive. The local bus driver parked on a hill to help random people with getting their bags, and the bus (pick up truck) began rolling backwards down the hill where he had to run and jump in to catch up with us and stop the truck... and then, we hit a beautiful bird, which the driver backed up so that someone could grab the bird off the street. But it was still alive! So we had this half dead bird being passed around the little bus, until the guy broke its neck. It was so awful. Its good and all, to use the meat, but not a fun thing to watch...
Konglor Cave
7.5 km cave! It was huge! Just gigantic, not only in length, but in height aswell, just unbelievable. Speedboating (canoo with a motor) in the cave was also quite an experience.. trying to boat up mini waterfalls, and falling all over the place.
Homestay in kong lo village
After leaving vientienne, rhyan and i arrived in Kong Lo after another lengthy bus ride. Here, we asked around the village for a homestay, which was a super cool experience! Absolutely no one in the village spoke any english, and we hadn't been able to find a phrase book last minute in Vientienne... so it was pretty interesting... eventually we figured out where to shower, which was in the muddy stream next to the village. As soon as rhyan got in the water, about a dozen little boys started following him around splashing him! And then all held out their little hands and copied him as he shampooed his hair, making fun of the white foam in eachothers hair. Afterwards, when we headed out to go to dinner, a dozen little girls all ran up to me and began holding my hands and arms, so i could spin them around and around in circles, so we spent as long as we could spinning them, but got so dizzy! After our restaurant dinner, we returned to the homestay, where they had prepared us another dinner, of home grown rice, seaweed and buffalo. I thought it was delicious! And then the whole family came out and put clumps of sticky rice in our hands and began chanting as they tied white cotton strings around our wrists, which we believe to be a good luck thing perhaps, or a religious thing, no one we've talked to is quite sure, though its quite a common thing. They also proudly showed us the bamboo carton of frogs which would be for dinner the following night. The actual sleeping place was just a shared mattress on the floor under a misquito net, but the people were all so friendly! Especially the children! So worth it, and its nice for our money to go to this wonderful family instead of big "posh" hotels.

Kayaking from vang vieng to vientenne
Instead of taking another bus ride, where you can place bets on who'll puke the most, we decided it'd be way more fun to kayak down! It definitely was!

More Waterfall Picture Overkill
Went back to the most beautiful waterfalls in the world the other day, and discovered that on our first trip we didn't even notice the main waterfall, which is of course was absolutely stunning!!

TUBING
We went on the infamous tubing trip today! Great fun! Of course almost all of the bars are now recently closed along the route because of all the deaths over the passed few years. It was still a very good time! There was a couple places to stop along the way to grab a drink and play some beach volleyball, but for the most part we all floated along the river for the six hour ride. The pictures suck, but trust me when i say that it was such a cool chill time!

Song kran
Happy New Year! Song kran is just a massive waterfight! All the shops and everything are closed, and EVERYONE joins in on getting everyone completely soaked! Trucks full of dancing people and music constantly drive by tossing buckets of water on anyone nearby, and walking the streets without getting drenched is literally impossible! And every now and then someone gives you a good shock by having ice water in their buckets instead! Also, people have bags of flour to pour on peoples heads, and some people put dyed water in instead! At the moment, half my body is bright green, while the other half is orange... and my hair is white from all the flour! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL DAY!!! Doing it all again tomorrow!
